Public Trust, Patriotism and Civil Obedience in Nigeria during Pandemic

leadership of any given country. In Nigeria today, public trust, patriotism and civil obedience among the citizens have been eroded. Evidence has shown that the restoration of such is not anytime soon. Fundamentally, this study seeks to measure the amount of trust the public still have on its government. As a result, attempts are being undertaken to determine what is causing the public's trust to decline and Nigerians' lack of patriotism and civil obedience, particularly during the COVID 19 epidemic. To achieve the above objective, this study adopted both qualitative and quantitative method of data collections and analysis. In view of the above, primary and secondary sources of generating data are being utilized. Similarly, findings are being deduce from the obtainable results. This study therefore recommends that there should be improve transparency in communication, engagement of community leaders, religious institutions, design and implement targeted awareness campaigns, government should ensure equitable access to healthcare facilities, enhance governance practices, transparency, and accountability, government should always provide socioeconomic support to individuals and communities affected by the pandemic. Government should also strengthen public education programs on public health.
